Headed to 56 Degrees tonight where we have reservations for the New Years Eve festivities. Linsday and myself plus Grady Jaynes and his wife Carolley. Thought I would start with martinis and work my way to the car bombs. Haha. Should be fun.
Put in another three hours on the chase video and didn't do much else today. Picked up a firewire cable and had lunch with a friend who's leaving town for Africa tomorrow. I'll do some reading before I go out, but I guess no writing today for me. Lazy lazy.
The fantasy of Indian Summer ended this afternoon. Southern Indiana enjoyed a week of unseasonably warm weather capped by a 60F high yesterday afternoon: shorts and t-shirt weather in late December! I'll take it. Today, however, the frontal passage brought rain and cooler temperatures, with a forecasted low of 25F tonight.
A few days ago I discovered that my PC, now three years old from Dell, included MGI Videowave 4 software. I dug out a Dazzle capture device and realized I have everything I need here to begin my first commercial chase video, so I did. I'm planning a career highlights package, with video and stills from between 1996 and 2003, tentatively titled "Seven Years On Cyclone Road," based on the cool sign we saw during our chase on April 19, 2003.
Two big projects underway at the same time: I'm also trying to finish the first draft of a novel. Ideally I work on the book during the morning, read in the afternoon, and work on the video at night. But that schedule is proving hard to follow when I sleep too late, and screw around with things like a blog--haha. With that in mind, I'll sign off.
